My name is Tommy. I live in New York City. I’ve been here since I was 9 years old. My father was in the military so we moved around a lot until then. My parents met on a blind date, got married and I came along a year later. I was born in Orange, Texas when my father was stationed there while in the US Navy. I usually have a camera around my neck so I can be prepared to take photos of things I may come across throughout the course of my day. There are lots of photographs in this journal; feel free to browse around.
I love New York. I like the energy here; I like the diversities of peoples and I like the fact that there is always something to do. For exercise, I ride a Brompton folding bike back and forth to work most days. If I don’t feel like riding, I fold it up and bring it on the train with me. It’s a very convenient contraption.
I work in the Chelsea district and I go down to Greenwich Village almost daily; usually to pick up some food from various restaurants and health food stores I like. I don’t like cold weather but I’ve learned to put up with it by properly dressing. I’ll usually ride the bike in if there is no snow on the ground and the temperature is around 20 degrees F or warmer.
